With that, I also BELIEVE that your DJ should be able to create a fun environment for you and your guests.

I BELIEVE that your DJ should be as skilled on the microphone as he is on the turntables.

I BELIEVE your DJ should take the time to get to know you both so that he can understand your vision and turn it into a reality.

Deborah Gee, Head of Sales, Oliver & Bonacini Events

It’s always an honour when your asked by event and wedding industry colleagues to perform at their own event, and for the second year in a row I was asked to DJ the Oliver & Bonacini Award Ceremony and Holiday Party held at the Steam Whistle Brewery in Toronto.

Over 400 of their employees came to dance their pants off and they didn’t disappoint! This party is one of my favourite events of the year and by looking at the photo’s below, shot by the amazing duo of Lauren & David of Oink & Coo Photography, you can see why.

Jennifer Botterill & Adrian Lomonaco – Married May 5, 2012

Jennifer is a 3 Time Gold Medal Winner and 5 time World Champion with the Canadian Women’s Hockey Team

I had the pleasure of being introduced to Adrian and Jennifer by Toronto celebrity wedding planner, Melissa Andre, and from the first meeting I got the sense that they wanted to have the party of a lifetime, and that’s what they got!

They held their wedding at Touchstone Resort in Muskoka and the amazingly talented Rebecca Wood was brought on-board to shoot the event and she captured it perfectly! Below are the party shots, but to see the whole wedding, check Rebecca’s blog.

Killer guitar, hard drums and wicked vocals had this song a must play all year.

6.  What Makes You Beautiful – One Direction

Yeah, yeah, I know what your saying “Seriously, One Direction???”  But this song had people going nuts and screaming the chorus like it was House of Pain’s “Jump Around”. Everyone has a guilty pleasure and this was one of many for 2012.

5.  Livin’ on a Prayer – Bon Jovi

This song will last forever.  I never get tired of hearing the crowd scream “we’re half way there, ah-ah, livin’ on a prayer.”

4.  Hypnotize – Notorious B.I.G.

This brings me back to my club days.  With the melodic chorus, funk beats and dope rhymes courtesy of Mr. Christopher Wallace, how could you not be “hypnotized”?

Can’t stop believing, nuff said.

2.  Call Me Maybe – Carly Rae Jepsen

Everyone has a guilty pleasure song, and this is mine.  Funny enough, Canada’s kid station, YTV, has been blasting it well before it hit the main stream and my daughters have been singing it for the last year.  But it’s catchy and one of those feel good tracks.  I always smile when it’s requested at a party.

1.  Gangnam Style – PSY

Love it or hate it, no one can deny that this song is everywhere and has everyone trying to do the dance…but just can’t get it right. Yet, it did fill dance-floors instantly and was requested more then any other song in 2012, which is what makes it number 1!
